A problem called hyperventilation can also result in palpitations. Hyperventilation is when you experience an increased amount of oxygen in your blood. The heart works extra hard to process this oxygen and that leads to a feeling of shortness of breath. Hyperventilation can result in chest pain as well.

You’ll find a lot of different physical factors that can result in heart palpitations. One of the biggest contributing factors is simply high levels of stress. Stress can cause everything from anxiety to high heart rate. If you’re constantly under high stress then it’s very possible that you’ll have palpitations.

Your doctor can run a few tests and determine if there is any serious health problem causing the problem. If so they can help treat it and get you back into good shape. Remember, it’s your doctor’s job to care for you, so if you have any trouble breathing or you’re having any other symptom it’s important to discuss it with your doctor immediately.

Some of the most common medications that cause these symptoms include beta blockers, nitroglycerin, certain antibiotics, nicotine, alcohol and caffeine. Other medications that can also contribute to heart palpitations include aspirin and beta blockers. Keep in mind that if you’re taking a new medication it’s best to do a little bit of research on the drug before starting any kind of medication.

If you eat a lot of foods that are high in fat your risk of developing heart palpitations after eating. This is due to the fact that fat causes your heart to have a harder time pumping blood through your body. If you’ve been consuming a lot of fried and fatty foods you may want to take a close look at what your diet consists of. There is a definite connection between heart attacks and high fat diets. Avoiding these foods altogether can drastically reduce your risk of having a heart attack or stroke.
